Tarrant County VotingToday is the last day to vote in the Tarrant County Primary. As you know, Tarrant County is dominated by Republican voters, so if you want to make a difference in the upcoming election TODAY is the day. There are several races that are very contested. Not the least of these is the race for Tarrant County District Attorney. A former district court judge, Sharen Wilson, is running against two defense attorneys, George Mackey and Kathy Lowthorp. This is an important race for Tarrant County. Before the incumbent DA, Joe Shannon, Tarrant County had the same DA for about 30 years. Our county has been on the cutting edge of technology and has one of the best cultures with regard to the State’s attorneys interacting with the defense bar. In recent years the DA’s Office has been plagued by scandal and a variety of controversy. I actually believe all three DA candidates are nice folks that want what’s best for our county. However, when you compare the qualifications of the candidates, there is one clear choice: Sharen Wilson. If you are a Republican that is appalled by government waste, Sharen Wilson operated the most efficient felony court in Tarrant County. If you are a citizen concerned about the safety of our streets, Sharen Wilson has a reputation that extends beyond our county lines for being a tough-as-nails judge. Most importantly, if you believe our District Attorney should exemplify integrity, Sharen Wilson has shown time and again that she is committed to the rule of law and (despite attack adds) she has conducted herself in a manner beyond reproach. I have practiced in many counties throughout Texas. I have interacted with a long list of prosecutors and judges. I personally do not know anyone that is more fit for the task of leading our DA’s Office than Sharen Wilson. So, go to the polls. Find your polling place HERE.
